Getting Started with Maki Geo on Wordpress

What is Maki Geo?

Maki Geo is a WordPress plugin that enables geo-targeting capabilities for your website. It allows you to show or hide content based on your visitors’ location, helping you create more personalized and relevant experiences for your audience.

Installation

You can find Maki Geo in the Wordpress plugin repository. Direct link.

To install Maki Geo from the plugin repository:

  1. Go to your WordPress website and log in.
  2. In the sidebar menu, click on Plugins > Add New Plugin.
  3. Search for Maki Geo.
  4. Find Maki Geo in the list and click on the Install button.
  5. Wait for the installation to complete and click on the Activate button.

You have now installed Maki Geo. You can find the Maki Geo settings in your admin sidebar menu.

Quick Start Guide

  1. Set up your API key (Optional)

    • Go to Maki Geo settings in your admin sidebar
    • Enter your API key if you have one
    • The free tier includes 1000 requests per month
  2. Add your first geo-targeted content

    • Edit any post or page
    • Add a “Geo Content” block
    • Add your content inside the block
    • Configure targeting rules in the block settings
  3. Test your geo targeting

    • Preview your page
    • Your content will show/hide based on visitor location
